Meet the Standard Poodle
While the Poodle is commonly identified as a posh show dog, there is so much more to discover behind their curls!
Intelligent
The poodle is both cognitively and emotionally intelligent. They are in tune with their humans, quick learners, and eager to please. They are ranked the second smartest dog breed!
Family
The poodle is great with kids. They love to play and love to snuggle! They are joyful, gentle, alert, and carefully watch over their human pack.
Hunter
The name Poodle comes from the German word “Pudel”, meaning “to splash”. They were bred to work with bird hunters, retrieving waterfowl.
Loyal
Poodles are known for their loyalty, creating strong bonds with their people. They love to hang out with you through everything that fills your day!
Sport
Poodles are active dogs that excel at various canine sports such as agility, obedience, flyball, and since most poodles love the water- dock diving!
Hypoallergenic
Poodles are known for their hypoallergenic, non-shedding coat. They also feel clean and smell good, nearly all the time!
Show
The poodle’s stature, poise, and graceful movement in combination with their expressiveness and intelligence make them stand out in the show ring. They’ve won the Westminster Best in Show 5 times!
Service and Therapy
The trainability and focus of a poodle equips them for excellence in jobs such as medical alert and seeing eye, as well as anxiety and stress support.

“I came home last October with my male Standard from Deed Standard Poodles and am still in complete marvel as to what a great disposition he has. He’s happy, he loves EVERYTHING, he’s a great companion and most of all he’s smart! That, I believe is what happens when you have really good breeders. It’s really fun having a dog that everyone loves. Best dog EVER! Anyone looking for a Standard Poodle- I say end your search here!”
